Slime Rancher 2 is getting a massive amount of new content with the Song of the Sabers free update, just announced by independent game studio Monomi Park. Featuring a new biome, new slimes, and more collectibles, you’ll be able to explore the new frozen area called Powderfall Bluffs. There will, of course, be new slimes and new gadgets.
Available starting February 15, 2023, new players will have immediate access to the Song of the Sabers content. Current players will need to update their game to set off exploring the new biome and start catching new saber slimes.
Slime Rancher 2’s New Biome
Powderfall Bluffs is a snowy, glacial island that has mysteriously surfaced from the Slime Sea. Located off the coast of Ember Valley, Powderfall Bluffs is like stepping back in history. Frequented by auroral anomalies, strange luminescent flora that illuminate otherwise invisible bridges to new areas of the zone, you can trek all the way up the icy peaks. Though, you’ll have to make the trek at night to see them.
You’ll find new precious resources, too, and new gadgets can be built, such as the Snowball Machine or a giant snow globe.
New Slimes in Powderfall Bluffs
With a new biome comes new slimes, of course. Saber Slimes are prehistoric predators, long thought to be extinct, that stalk the snowdrifts for Thundercluck chickens. With long saber-like teeth, these slimes can be seen roaring over the cliffs.
Slime Rancher 2 is currently available on Xbox platforms and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Slime Rancher 2 is also available on Game Pass.
