If you want to create the One Small Step shotgun in Destiny 2: Shadowkeep, you need to find the Fangs of Shun’Gath to cleanse the Essence of Rage quest item.

In this guide, you’ll learn where to go, what to kill, and what additional steps you’ll need to take to get what might be the best PvE shotgun in Shadowkeep.

The Path

To start your journey to the location of the Fangs of Shun’Gath, you need to travel to the Temple of Crota. You can reach the Temple via a path leading away from the Anchor of Light area on the Moon, as shown here:

Take the path all the way down until you reach a large archway guarded by a few Hive Acolytes and a Wizard.

The Temple of Crota

Head inside the room the Hive were guarding and descend into the pit beyond it. Continue following the hallway until you reach a room with a large central structure with bridges leading in four directions.

You want to proceed beyond and to the left. You can jump on the rocks and bypass the hallway that leads around the structure, as shown below.

You’ll know you’re on the right track if you see a greenlit hallway leading further down. It looks like this:

Continue down the hall until you reach a large, open room, also lit dingy green. To your right will be a doorway. Go through it.

Beyond the doorway is the World’s Grave, where you’ll locate the Fangs of Shun’Gath. If you’re in the right place, a marker on your screen will tell you you’ve transitioned into the World’s Grave.

The World’s Grave

Stick to the left side of the room and go through the hallway on the lower floor. You should reach a room that bends back around. It is guarded by six or so Acolytes and a Knight.

Your goal is the doorway at the back left of the room (noted with an arrow).

The Boss

Once you go through this final doorway, you’ll be greeted by a wave of red-bar Thrall and a boss-level Thrall named Shun’Gath, the Excised. He’s your man.

Kill him by any means (probably by shooting), and you’ll receive the Fangs of Shun’Gath item.

The Weapon

Now that you have the Fangs, you need the Essence of Rage. You can locate the Essence by killing the Nightmare of Ghaul in the Rage Nightmare hunt.

Be aware that, as the Nightmare Hunts rotate weekly, this Hunt won’t necessarily be up every week.

Once you have the Essense of Rage, you need to cleanse it, but thankfully, the hard part’s done. All you need now is to land Super kills, grenades, or melee abilities until you fill the progress bar.

The Essence of Rage in Destiny, required for the One Small Step shotgun

Once that’s done, you’re all set to claim your One Small Step shotgun.

And that’s the location of the Fangs of Shun’Gath and how to find the Essence of Rage and craft the One Small Step shotgun in Destiny 2.
