The newest March of the Machine set for Magic: The Gathering packs a serious punch when it comes to its power level in comparison to other recent standard sets. Some of the new cards in this set are seriously broken, and fans will be happy to see some exciting reprints as well.
The market is currently responding with some volatility to this set. There are lots of double-faced cards in March of the Machine, as well as new Battle card type and mechanic.
Let's try and understand where the market actually stands with the help of this guide for the most expensive MtG cards in March of the Machine set. Note that the listed prices correspond to the date of this article's publishing: April 10, 2023.

Etali, Primal Conqueror // Etali, Primal Sickness
- Regular art price: $7.69
- Showcase art price: $16.75
This is the second iteration of the Etali dinosaur in MtG, and it also has the Blightsteel Colossus effect on the flipside for some reason. Either way, it looks like this card won't be viable in any other format except EDH.
The lack of interest from all other formats will make Etali, Primal Conqueror a solid choice for a Gruul commander, or as one of 99 in the Naya list with Gishath, Sun's Avatar. But everything else indicates that this card will fall to about $5 a piece in the end.

Sword of Once and Future
- Regular art price: $17.19
- Extended art price: $17.20
Here is another solid sword card in March of the Machine set that is gaining some serious momentum.
It will definitely see play in modern decks that are looking for protection against blue and black colors, which indicates that Mono White decks will want a copy or two of this fine artifact.
The price has already gone up, and it looks like it will be trading at around $20+ in a short time.

Vorinclex // The Grand Evolution
- Regular art price: $12.95
- Showcase art price: $18.50
As expected, the new Vorinclex card has a solid start at the market due to such formats like commander, standard, and modern, but the future doesn't look that bright.
The effects on both sides of this card are quite powerful enough to justify its initial price that will most likely dwindle to about $10 a piece due to generally underwhelming interest. It's even considered by the EDH players only as a part of 99, but not as a commander.

Zimone and Dina
- Regular art price: $6.38
- Showcase art price: $19.03
Now this card is perfect for the role of commander, as it has the required low mana cost, as well as truly strong effects.
There wasn't much interest in it initially, as the price after the reveal was no more than $5 a card. The price went up a bit when standard players noticed its potential.

Thalia and The Gitrog Monster
- Regular art price: $13.94
- Showcase art price: $19.18
A card that combines two of the modern legendaries is bound to be well received by the Magic community.
It was hugely hyped upon reveal, trading at around $30 a piece, but the price corrected itself in the past week. It may stay where it's currently at, as it's already being eyed for EDH format as both a commander and a part of 99, as well as for modern and pioneer.

Sheoldred // The True Scriptures
- Regular art price: $19.16
- Showcase art price: $20.91
This Sheoldred is clearly not as powerful as the one from Dominaria United, but it has its fans in the multiplayer EDH community and they'll make sure that this card trades as high as possible.
It's been going up in price lately, which is a good sign, so there's a case that you'll see Sheoldred in more than just a commander format. Esper Pioneer players are really looking forward to testing this out.

Urabrask // The Great Work
- Regular art price: $26.26
- Showcase art price: $28.87
MtG fans are really happy to finally see a truly strong Urabrask card, which has both sides doing a lot of great work (no pun intended).
It currently has a huge support group in standard format, where it's going to become the true champion of Mono Red and Boros Aggro decks. But you may see it in a variety of aggressive decks in commander as a part of 99, too.

Omnath, Locus of All
- Regular art price: $5.32
- Buy-a-box art price: $33.99
We've seen plenty of Omnath creatures in the last few years in MtG, but this one is probably the weakest of them all. However, fans absolutely love the buy-a-box art, which caused the price spike.
It actually may be a pretty good commander card, and it will be tested in 5-color modern decks, but it'll probably never go above $5 a card of the regular art. The effect is just too clunky to execute properly, and even then it doesn't show much of a competition.

Jin-Gitaxias // The Great Synthesis
- Regular art price: $16.98
- Showcase art price: $38.09
This is a really strong card that could prompt a creation of an entire archetype in EDH with lots of non-creature spells that would lead to some unexpected lethal finishers.
People know that Jin-Gitaxias has a huge potential and don't trade it for less than $15, but it's hard to say if this price will sustain the momentum or if it'll drop further into the market oblivion.

Elesh Norn // The Argent Etchings
- Regular art price: $24.07
- Showcase art price: $39.30
Elesh Norn is clearly a high risk / high reward card that will require opponents to deal with it as quickly as possible. It's going to be brutal with your tokens blocking the army of attackers from the other side, where each one will ping the opponent for 2 damage.
Such perspective makes a lot of MtG players giddy, especially in commander and standard formats. The price has been volatile lately, constantly going up and down, but the latest trend shows an upward movement.

Wrenn and Realmbreaker
- Regular art price: $21.65
- Borderless art price: $54.99
The new Wrenn planeswalker isn't only the most expensive card from March of the Machine set, but also the strongest one.
Many MtG investors predict that this card will effectively double in price as soon as people realize just how strong it is, so expecting the price to reach $40 a piece wouldn't be a total surprise.
It'll definitely see play in commander, standard, and modern formats, as the cheap casting cost and four powerful abilities really make it stand out from the rest.
Those are the most expensive cards in March of the Machine. For more Magic: The Gathering content, card lists, and guides, head over to our MtG hub page here.
