Miitomo Update Brings Star Accounts into Your Social Fold

According to Nintendo Life, Nintendo’s Miitomo app is getting an update.

Coming soon, the social networking app will feature “Star Accounts.” Nintendo has not given much detail on exactly what this feature entails, but Nintendo Life speculates that it will work similarly to verified Twitter accounts. The site also notes that Star Accounts may be a Japan-exclusive feature.

Other additions to the app include the ability to tap links in Answers and Comments to view them in a browser, an increase in Popularity Level and Style Level upper limits to 30, and new options for sharing and sending invitations. One of these options will be through integration with instant messaging platform WhatsApp.

Nintendo Life notes that the app will release on June 30 in Mexico, South Africa and Switzerland.

Miitomo also features a series of minigames called “Miitomo Drop,” in which players can earn additional clothing items. Interested gamers can check out GameSkinny’s guides to winning the Vehicle Vogue, Royal Elegance and Top Dog sets.
