It’s official.
Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett has been released by Team Liquid. The team sent out the following tweet yesterday, November 23rd, on their official Twitter account:
Today we say goodbye to @Dardochlol and we all wish him the best of luck with his new team!https://t.co/udk0PWDszb pic.twitter.com/UI7rikYD7Q

During the 2016 NA LCS summer split, there were rumors and eventually public statements made about Dardoch and his alleged toxic behavior within the team and specifically toward team coach Choi “locodoco” Yoon-sup.
Many questions and reactions were posted to the r/leagueoflegends subreddit. Ultimately his reputation was affected. He lost many fans, but those who continued to show him support seemed to become even more hardcore.
When League of Legends was just starting out, many pro players were known for trash-talking. Some of the most infamous being Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng, Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez Santiago and Konstantinos “FORG1VEN” Tzortziou. Trash-talking eventually died off as pros became victims of online harassment and verbal abuse.
Dardoch has pioneered the re-emergence of what could potentially be a new wave of “banter” LCS pros.
We have yet to confirm with which team Dardoch will be signing.
