What is Garlic in Vampire Survivors?

Garlic is a powerful weapon in Vampire Survivors. You can obtain it by consuming five Floor Chickens and creating an aura of protection around them. The enchanting shield is represented by rotating concentric circles that cause all enemies to be damaged.

Garlic’s impressive power can be seen in how it quickly dispatches weak enemies. This means you’ll get more experience more quickly, and you’ll be able to create space within hordes and waves to survive that much longer or escape.

To top it all off, its effectiveness doesn’t fade over time; swarms of stronger opponents can be dispatched just like their weaker counterparts. With that in mind, garlic is the ultimate enemy debuffing agent for opposing forces. With each hit, enemies lose defense points for knockback and freeze until they reach their maximum vulnerability, leaving them highly vulnerable to any incoming damage!

Garlic provides much-needed crowd control for strategic players in every fight, with +9 Base Damage and a 100% Area of Effect spread across 8 Levels.

Evolving Garlic in Vampire Survivors

To evolve Garlic, you’ll need to complete several steps and get the Pummarola passive item. Here are the exact steps for evolving Garlic in Vampire Survivors.

  • Step 1: Get Garlic. You can do this by consuming five Floor Chicken or using Poe Ratcho, which gives you access to this weapon immediately.
  • Step 2: Level Garlic to Level 8.
  • Step 3: The Pummarola passive item is required for the third step. Staying alive for 5 minutes as Gennaro Belpaese unlocks it.
  • Step 4: If you still need to do so, you must survive your run for at least 10 minutes before opening a treasure chest from beating one of the larger, mid-boss enemies.
  • Step 5: After opening the chest, you should be able to obtain Soul Eater, Garlic’s evolved form.

What is Soul Eater in Vampire Survivors? Answered

Soul Eater is the evolution of Garlic. This weapon creates a black aura around you with a pulsing visual effect that damages all enemies. The Area and Base Damage of Soul Eater have been significantly increased. Its most valuable late-game abilities revolve around debuffs.

Because of the increased knockback, strong enemies that require additional hits to kill will be easier to keep at bay. Some boss enemies can also become highly susceptible to freezing if kept in the circle for a long time. A Soul Eater’s aura instantly kills most weak enemies.

And with that, you now know how to evolve Garlic, and why you should, in Vampire Survivors. There’s a lot more to the game than just improving one item, and we’ve got more over on our Vampire Survivors guides page, including the requirements for unlocking every map, the best way to farm gold for Golden Eggs, how to unlock Leda and Toastie, and much more.
