Ubisoft has been generous in recent months by giving away one game per month for the 30th anniversary of company’s establishment. This November, the Ubi 30 event continues with the latest free first-person shooter: Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon.
Based on the recent giveaways, the game should be available at no cost from 15th November to 15th December. In order to get this game, a Ubisoft account is required to confirm the game’s ownership, and the Uplay app must installed on your PC for the game download.
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon is the stand-alone expansion of the critically acclaimed open-world first-person shooter Far Cry 3. Although it has an identical world layout and uses the same engine, the expansion is set in “an 80s VHS vision of the future” where the player must “get the girl, kill the bad guys, and save the world”.
Blood Dragon‘s gameplay has major changes from the original game — a simple leveling system, the removal of crafting features, and an arsenal of sci-fi weapons. Even so, it received positive reception from game critics, with an average score of 82/100 in Metacritic (PC version). It is also considered to be the fastest selling downloadable title in Ubisoft history, with 1 million copies sold in 2013.
While waiting 12 more days to unlock Blood Dragon, Ubisoft fans can grab action-platformer Beyond Good & Evil, which is currently free as part of the Ubi 30 event.
