Mario Clash was released in 1995 for all regions. This game was one of the fourteen that were launched on the Virtual Boy console. Despite this home entertainment system’s failure it was one of my favorites and I still enjoy powering it up for this game.
The objective of this Mario game is to knock all the Koopas off the edge; if they knocked you off, then time to restart. The gameplay was fun and the mechanics were very simple and easy to grasp. The early development of three dimensions on the game seemed to be amazing at the time; however now it seems so mindless and boring to most players.
Mario Clash had 99 levels that the player could jump, throw, and dodge their way through. I was never able to bear playing enough of the game to be able to see through the entire thing, but a few fans that have and still do enjoy this game to that point.
Playing any game on the Virtual Boy is fun for a while, but this one seems to be pretty high on my list of games that I remember well from the Virtual Boy. I do realize that it was one of the less common games. Most people seem to remember three basic games Telroboxer, Warioland, and the ever so famous Mario Tennis. A loose Mario Clash cartridge can be purchased for a small amount and is worth a small play if you have not yet done so. Feel free to check out the listings and see for yourself.
