So, I was going through my Game Informer magazine (the August issue) last night and when I came upon page 22, I had to do a double-take. There was a small segment on the page, in a pretty shade of purple, about the next installment of the Final Fantasy series and XIV is barely coming out! What kind of nonsense is this?! Those of you with busy lives will understand why I’m so late on this…
According to Game Informer, Final Fantasy XV, which was formerly known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII, will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 and the XBox One. They’ve changed the battle system, which looks extremely cinematic and interactive. They’ve changed the storyline, which looks as scandalous as ever. And the cut scene graphics look stunning like we knew and hoped they would!
Of course, it’s still in the works (like another-two-years-and-some-change in the works, according to Game Informer) since XIV is making its début in a little less than two weeks. And not to mention the other titles in the line-up, like Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII, which comes out February 2014 for the PS3 and XBox 360, and the Final Fantasy X HD Collection. And let’s face it – those wonderful people over at Square Enix need more time because you can’t rush perfection!
According to ffxvhome.com, Jump Magazine in Japan revealed a couple of the characters we’ll be meeting: Cor Leonis and his friends Gladiolus Amicitia, Prompto Argentum, and Ignis Stupeo Scientia. Unfortunately, it’ll be a while before we meet them, but it’s great to know that Final Fantasy XV is well on its way!
Are you excited for Final Fantasy XV? You’ve got plenty of time to get excited about it, that’s for sure!
