It was a month ago, during the Producer Live Letter at the Tokyo Game Show, when Yoshi-P announced that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn had over one million unique users since launch. Today, two months after release, Dualshockers reports that the service now boasts over 1.5 million unique registered accounts.
In the article it states a press release was sent out as the source for their information, but didn’t provide a copy of said press release, so even though it’s highly likely, treat it as rumor for now. But now for a more interesting bit of information: according to said press release, the long-awaited 2.1 patch is rumored to release this December.
With it will come housing, PVP in the form of The Wolves’ Den, tons of new end-game content and much more. Despite my best efforts, I could not find the press release in question, so sadly I cannot confirm whether any of this is true. If I do, however, happen to find more information, I will be sure to update this post. More information about the 2.1 patch can be found here and here.
