If you’ve previously played Final Fantasy X-2 and you’ve never heard of that Festivalist Dressphere – don’t panic. The Festivalist Dressphere was originally only available in the Final Fantasy X-2 International version – so you may not have heard of it.
You will want to snag this dressphere. It is perhaps the silliest of all, for example Rikku uses cotton candy and a Goldfish as weapons. It’s also available early on so you’ll have plenty of time to use the Festivalist Dressphere for comic relief throughout your play through.
How to get the Festivalist Dressphere
There are two ways to obtain the Festivalist Dressphere, an easy way and a hard way.
The first opportunity you have to obtain the Festivalist Dressphere is your first time aboard the Celsius. The first time you find yourself on board the Celsius, simply go up to Brother and talk to him. Voila, the it’s yours.
If for some reason you missed the first opportunity (it happens) reprieve is granted in the Coliseum. The first time you beat the Grand Cup: Hard in FFX/X-2 HD Remaster, you’ll obtain the Festivalist Dressphere.
However, if for some reason you’re playing the Playstation 2 Final Fantasy X-2 International edition, then you’ll need to beat Grand Cup: Hard a total of three times before you can obtain the Festivalist Dressphere.
Unlike the Standard Cup, from which you earn the Psychic Dressphere, you will have to work to unlock the Grand Cup: Hard.
To unlock the Grand Cup: Hard you will first have to unlock the Standard Cup: Hard by beating the Standard Cup three times. After that, Standard Cup: Hard is unlocked. After beating Standard Cup: Hard once, the Grand Cup will open.
After this it’s primarily rinse and repeat. You must beat the Grand Cup a total of 3 times to unlock Grand Cup: Hard. Once you’ve managed to unlock Grand Cup: Hard, the dressphere is almost yours.
Reap Your Reward
By now you’re probably seriously regretting missing the easy opportunity to earn the Festivalist Dressphere. All that work pays off when you obtain it after you’re first Grand Cup: Hard win. Enjoy!
